Cardinal Flowers

Cardinal Flowers is another wildflower which is showing up in the gardens of America and no wonder due to it's lengthy bloom time and tall bright red flowers. This is a plant, which attracts humming birds and butterflies and makes a lovely subject for the discerning photographer. The bloom time of Cardinal Flowers is from July through October. They like streamside thickets and wet roadsides. You can find them along Schoolhouse Gap Trail.
