The Lee Roberson Gallery
Nestled securely in a secluded cove, alongside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you'll discover a lovely oasis of unspoiled beauty. This was the first, and for several years, the only art gallery officially recognized by the state of Tennessee as a "Tourism Attraction." At the end of the picturesque winding lane, you'll find a cluster of restored log structures, built mostly by Lee himself. Upon arrival, you may experience a sense of having "stepped back in time" and your mind may require a few minutes to adjust to the feeling that you have entered a whole new world. Transfixed with the scene and the atmosphere around them, many people are moved to call it the "closest thing to Heaven. Women tell us that their husbands and boyfriends, who would not enjoy a trip to most art galleries, look forward to a visit to Lee Roberson's as a favorite part of their Smoky Mountains visit. Guests often write to express how much they enjoyed their visit. One lady recently wrote, "Thanks for having such a wonderful, friendly staff that made us feel right at home. And what an added joy--on our second visit we were able to meet Mr. Roberson personally!"...Guests have even asked why they don't charge an admission fee, which is taken as a heart-felt compliment. The Roberson Gallery is just two miles from Townsend, Tennessee, off scenic Highway 321, between Townsend and Pigeon Forge. It is secluded, peaceful, and well worth the trip for any art lover. The gallery is open daily 10 to 5, except Saturdays. Yes, they are open Sundays. Plan a leisurely trip to Cades Cove, a picnic along Little River, and a visit to the Lee Roberson Gallery--it will be a day to remember!
