There are five drive-in horse camps with handy access to backcountry horseback riding trails in the Smokies.Horseback Riding in the Smokys They are located at Cades Cove in Tennessee and at Big Creek, Cataloochee, Round Bottom, and Tow String in North Carolina. For reservations, call 865.436.1231. The horse-stall fee is $3. In addition, Big Creek charges a $10 per site camping fee.

Horseback riding is available from mid-March to mid-November and rates run $15 per hour. For information about a specific area call the following numbers:
