Appalachian Ski Mountain has offered skiing since 1962. The facility offers two quad chairlifts, one double chairlift, one conveyor lift, and one handle pull lift. There are 10 slopes including two terrain parks. Season: Friday before Thanksgiving through the first Sunday in April. Open 7 days a week. Night skiing beginning first Friday in December. This theme park has a wild west theme and features a three-mile, steam-powered train ride through the North Carolina mountains. The park also features shopping, live entertainment, amusement rides and a petting zoo. Open on weekends in May (Fri.-Sun.). Open 7 days a week after Memorial Day weekend through mid-August.
