SUMMER 2003

May 1 - June 13 -  Springfest - A countywide festival, which includes cities of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville.  Festival will include special events, local craft shows and much more.

May 1 - June 20 - Gatlinburg Flower Fest - Flowers beautifully decorate the streets of Gatlinburg with demonstration by local artists and craftsmen accompanied by musicians and entertainers.  For more information please contact Gatlinburg's Special Events at (865) 436-0500.

May 10-18 - National Tourism Week - Gatlinburg Welcome Center. The city of Gatlinburg presents honors daily to a lucky tourist at random.  For more information please call (865) 436-0520.

May 16-18 - 22nd Annual Scottish Festival and Games - Mills Park.  Highland athletic games, Highland dancers, bag pipe bands, border collie demonstrations, entertainment, whiskey tasting, Scottish clans and much more.  For clan or event registration and information please e-mail at gatlinburghighlandgames@juno.com  

May 22-25 - Family Fest in the Smokies - Gatlinburg Convention Center. An annual gospel concert with 5 performances by Bill and Gloria Gaither, The Gaither Vocal Band and a number of selected artists. Tickets may be ordered by calling Gaither Music 800-955-8746.

July 3-4 - 28th Annual 4th of July Midnight Parade 2003 - Downtown Gatlinburg.   Enjoy lighted floats, marching bands, & giant helium balloons.  Parade begins at 12:01 a.m. on the 4th of July, ( which is one minute after midnight on July 3).  If you would like to participate in this parade, please contact the Gatlinburg Special Events Department at (865) 436-0500.July 4 - River Raft Regatta - Enjoy a fun event on the river.  Unmanned, floatable objects are launched into the River and they compete for prizes.  12:00 p.m  River Road.

July 4 - "FIRECRACER 100" Kids Trout Rodeo - 7:30 p.m. - 11:00 a.m.  Location will be the Little Pigeon River between the Christus Gardens Bridge and the Aquarium Bridge.  For more information please call (865) 436-0500.

July 18 thru 27 - Gatlinburg's Craftsmen's Fair - Over 180 of the finest Craftspeople gifted in woodcarving, pottery, broom making, stained glass, metal work, basket weaving, calligraphy, jewelry and much more gather at the Gatlinburg Convention Center to offer their unique art for sale.  Plus Country and Bluegrass music performed daily by Keith Longbotham and band.

Sept. 25 - 6th Annual "Taste of Autumn" - Mills Auditorium.  Sample Gatlinburg's finest restaurants and homemade desserts for a wonderful United Way of Sevier County Benefit Event.  Enjoy live entertainment, benefit auction and door prizes for a wonderful countywide cause.  Cost is $20.00 per person.  For more information please call (865) 436-0500.

May 10 Kids Safety Day
The Sevierville Police Department is once again helping out the community by bringing home the importance of Kids Safety. The Sevierville Police Department will host a Kids Safety event on May 1oth at the Sevierville Police Department. Parents and children can participate in the many activities that will be provided between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Some of the activities are fingerprinting, a bicycle rodeo and child safety seat checks. There will be demonstrations by D.A.R.E. and K-9 Officers. The Fire Department and Ambulance Service will also be involved. The event is free of charge and everyone is invited to attend.
